Context: asking someone out through a plain message often lacks personality, and shared calendar tools like Calendly feel too formal for a private invitation.
Problem: offer a playful, frictionless way to ask the question, with no account and no password ever required, while still producing a genuinely valid calendar file (.ics) once the answer comes in.
Technical decisions: a six-step editor produces a single shareable link. The 'No' button flees or shrinks depending on which of seven themes is active, while still leaving a real, keyboard-accessible way out. The .ics file generation, compliant with RFC 5545, is shared between client and server so both paths always produce a valid file. Social link previews stay neutral to preserve the surprise, and data is automatically deleted once its chosen expiry passes.
Result: a tRPC, Express and Drizzle on MySQL architecture, fully typed end to end and covered by 89 tests, shipped as a live ByTechnum product at disoui.bytechnum.com.
